mash-up refers to a Web application that combines data from one or more sources into a single integrated tool.

Web 2.0 refers to a perceived second generation of web development and design, that aims to facilitate communication, secure information sharing, interoperability, and collaboration on the World Wide Web.

Floor Plan is a diagram, usually to scale, of the relationships between rooms, spaces and other physical features at one level of a structure.
Metadata is, simply put, “data about data.” Metadata is an emerging practice with close ties to librarianship, information science, information technology and GIS.
Acronym for "Really Simple Syndication," is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works—such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video—in a standardized format

virtual globe refers to a 3D software model or representation of the Earth or another world.
GeoWeb is a relatively new term that implies the merging of geographical (location-based) information with the abstract information that currently dominates the Internet.

Location Based Services (LBS) is an information and entertainment service, accessible with mobile devices through the mobile network and utilizing the ability to make use of the geographical position of the mobile device
Also known as Mobile Internet (.mobi). Refers to browser-based access to the Internet or web applications using a mobile device connected to a wireless network.
3D modeling is the process of developing a mathematical representation of any three-dimensional surface of object (either inanimate or living) via specialized software.
Geotagging is the process of adding geographical identification metadata to various media such as photographs, video, websites, or RSS feeds and is a form of geospatial metadata.
